Malanda is a picturesque rural town situated in one of the wettest and greenest areas of the Atherton Tablelands, and is surrounded by pockets of rainforest.

Malanda is between Ravenshoe, Atherton, Millaa Millaa, Yungaburra on the Tropical Tablelands just 76 km from Cairns International Airport. The area is renowned for it's volcanic lakes and easily accessible water holes (Crater Lakes, Lake Barrine and Lake Eacham to name a few).
